Plants will manufacture complex optical, mechanical, and electronic components, modules, and subassemblies

San Francisco, CA – February 8, 2005 – Fabrinet, an engineering and electromechanical manufacturing services company, announced the grand opening of its new Pinehurst manufacturing campus in Pathumthani, Thailand on February 2, 2005.  In addition, Fabrinet conducted a ceremony to lay the first stone in the foundation of the second building to be erected at the Pinehurst campus. When completed, the Pinehurst campus will equal the size of Fabrinet's Chokchai campus, doubling Fabrinet's footprint in Thailand.

The principal purpose of the first building at Pinehurst is to provide electronics assembly support for the complex optical and optomechanical component, module, and box-build devices produced at Fabrinet's Chokchai campus 7 miles away.  The 115,000 square foot building will also house executive offices and a full-service dining hall available to all employees.

The ground breaking for the second building at Pinehurst signifies management's commitment to strengthen Fabrinet's base in Thailand to support the company's growth.  “Fabrinet has benefited from the strong infrastructure and ongoing commitment of the Thai government to provide excellent technical education for its citizens and a positive environment for business growth,”noted Tom Mitchell, Chairman and CEO of Fabrinet. “The second Pinehurst building is a statement of our confidence in the local economy and Fabrinet's prospects for growth.  It will enable us to continue to provide the highest quality precision electromechanical and optomechanical manufacturing, process engineering, and supply chain management for the communications, automotive, medical and industrial markets.”

The second building is scheduled for completion December 2005. Upon completion, Fabrinet facilities will total more than 500,000 square feet with approximately 450,000 square feet in Thailand.
