Fabrinet Receives 2004 TCCC Annual Business Excellence Award for Best Manufacturer of the Year

San Francisco, CA – June 9, 2005 – Fabrinet, an engineering and electromechanical manufacturing services company, announced the company received the award for Best Manufacturer of the Year 2004 at the Thai-Canadian Chamber of Commerce 9th Annual Business Excellence Awards Dinner, held May 27, 2005 in the Ballroom of the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit, Bangkok, Thailand.  The award is presented annually to the company that best demonstrates a commitment and adherence to the highest standards in the manufacturing sector.

Candidates for the award were judged on the following criteria: peer and industry recognition, policies and procedures established by the company to ensure the integrity of the company's products and services, and for producing relevant products that impact the evolution of the times.  Fabrinet was recognized for its manufacturing technologies in the areas of precision electromechanical and optomechanical components and modules in addition to its process engineering and supply chain management across a range of industries that include telecommunications, data communications, automotive, and imaging.  The company utilizes lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma strategies in all aspects of its business and follows rigorous procedures to ensure process integrity, supplier quality, and continuous improvement. Fabrinet is ISO 9001:2000, 14001, and ISO/TS 16949:2002 certified.

The TCCC Awards are designed to promote Thai-Canadian trade, to acknowledge achievements of the Thai-Canadian business community, and to reflect to the Thai business community Canada's substantial business presence in Thailand with technologies and know-how that can have an impact in the Thai and ASEAN markets.  The Selection Committee was set by the TCCC Executive Board and included the President of the TCCC, representatives of the Business Excellence Committee, the Senior Trade Commissioner of the Embassy of Canada in Thailand, and respected TCCC members-at-large.
